Training and Coaching

Volunteer Center Orange County offers trainings geared towards educators and agencies interested in developing Service Learning programs. There are courses offered through outside organizations as well. For a small fee VCOC provides coaching services to help you through the Service Learning process.

Service Learning 101
Participants will acquire knowledge, skills, and resources related to implementing high quality service learning. Simple tired-and-true ideas for projects. We explore different types of service opportunities, how to make sure youth are involved in planning and implementing the project, and how reflection can enhance learning for students with different learning styles. Emphasis will be on standards and there will be ample time set aside for participants to brainstorm Service Learning project planning. Please check back for upcoming training dates.

Service Learning for agencies
Participants will learn how to engage youth, strengthen your numbers and build awareness about your agencies mission. Youth volunteering is more than counting hours. Learn how to become part of students’ education
